Waxing is a favourite option for those looking for semi permanent hair removal. Hair is removed at the root by applying a thin wax combination to the skin and a cloth or paper strip pressed to the top and removed quickly against the direction of hair growth. This ensures wax is removed at the same time as the hair.

Most parts of the body can be waxed, including legs, arms, eyebrows, face, bikini area, back, abdomen and feet. It’ll take between two and eight weeks for new hair to grow back and if waxing is done regularly for several years, it’s possible to achieve permanent hair reduction.

The main difference between the two is that strip wax involves using disposable strips to remove the hair, where as  with hot wax the wax is left to harden and then directly taken off.

The benefits of hot wax include less ingrown hairs, less breakage and longer regrowth periods and also lessens the chance of skin reddening, It can also be reapplied a few times without causing discomfort.

This should theoretically be less painful. It also has a stronger grip on the hairs, which makes it ideal for thicker more stubborn hair.
